The Enermax Platimax 1700 Watt is the royal class power supply. It meets the highest demands on performance and quality to power strong gaming machines, high-end workstations and mining machines. The manufacturer relies on long-life quality components and a complex, highly efficient technical design. In this way, energy losses are reduced to an absolute minimum: Platimax 1700 Watt achieves a peak efficiency of up to 93 percent in the 230-volt network. The power supply convinces with an almost perfect voltage regulation with clean output voltages (extremely low ripple noise) over the entire load range from 0 to 100%. Up to 99% of the total power can be generated via the central 12-volt voltage rails - an ideal prerequisite for the supply of powerful multi-GPU systems. The six 12-volt rails have a separate overcurrent protection (OCP). In total, Platimax 1700 Watt offers seven different protection mechanisms for the protection of valuable hardware (OCP, OVP, UVP, OTP, OPP, SCP and SIP).
The power supply is specified for 24/7 continuous operation at an operating temperature of up to 40 ° C. The Intelligent SpeedGuard fan control provides effective and quiet cooling with a 139mm fan. A fully modular cable management offers a wide range of connection options and the greatest possible flexibility in system installation or expansion.

Dynamic Hybrid Transformer Topology

All current options for further improvement of the PSU DC stage have been exhausted. For this reason, PSU manufacturers focus on the development of more efficient AC technologies. With the so-called “Dynamic Hybrid Transformer Topology” Enermax made the breakthrough: It is based on three pathbreaking innovations:

Dynamic Resonant Transformer Array
Enermax implemented a so-called Dynamic Resonant Transformer Array. It is based on the high-efficient resonant topology which is used for example in LCD monitors. The most noticeable modification on PCB is an additional resonant choke.
Dynamic Voltage Boosting Transforming
Initially, the capacitors are charged with alternating current (AC) from the wall socket. They ensure the continuous AC supply of the transformers according to the DC consumption of the PC system. Up to now, capacitors have been charged statically, so that too much power got lost at low loads. The capacitors of the Platimax series are charged with dynamic voltages – according to the required system power. That way, Enermax is able to increase the efficiency significantly.
Dynamic Frequencies Transforming
Transformers step the alternating current up or down. During this operation a part of the input power gets lost. Enermax managed to optimize this process by the use of dynamic frequencies. The transformers work with a wider frequency range according to the variable power consumption of system components. That way, Enermax is able to reduce energy loses radically.
